Get Well Wishes for Riley

This is very important to me...I hope you will check it out and send a card or two, and pass this on to your friends. There is nothing like putting a smile on a little girls face!

I received an email about a child named Riley Philpot and her goal to receive as many get well cards as possible. It is such a selfless thing to do that costs no money, just a little time and kindness. It's a great way to be grateful for what you have and proud of what you can do.

Her address is:

Riley Philpot
206 Slaney Loop Road
Winterville, NC 28590

More information on Riley:

If you are interested in following Riley and her progress you can join her care page. This is a free site that allows you to support the family and her through your thoughts and prayers. Her mom posted an update recently about the amount of cards Riley has received and is continuing to receive. So amazing!

A Little "Bohemian Rhapsody" with the band...

Meet some of the band! This is what happens when you take a trip with everyone crammed in one car...and leave the boys control of the ipod.

And yes, they are always like this.

from left to right...
Nick Waldrop (bass)
Zach Landon (drums)
Ricky Nelson (guitar)

...and please excuse my road rage :)

I like to adlib.

A typical day with my family...

(minus mom who was in LA at the moment)

Nothing on the radio so of course they pop in my CD. I definitely get my voice and dance moves from my family members, don't you think!?

Special appearance by the Jackie O. sunglasses on my dad.

MagiQuest!

Being a big kid for the afternoon and checking out MagiQuest in Myrtle Beach, SC with my sister & her boyfriend.

Starring:
Me as "Cama-lama-lama-lama"
Justin (sister's boyfriend) as "Dorfinschnitzer"
Cheri (sister) as "Mystic River"
Sly the Trixter Leader...as himself
& the nice greeter lady...

We are aware that this is for kids and that we look pretty ridiculous. But, it was between this and the aquarium...and this won. We actually had a great time. It was like playing Harry Potter for the afternoon ;)

Enjoy!

Drive-thru convenience store...

Share photos on twitter with Twitpic

It's called a 'Brew Thru'. Like, literally, you drive through the carport looking building and there's freezers inside on both sides and you tell them what you want. Coolest thing I've seen in a loooong time.

Vlog. Vlogging. V-Log.

I just really like that word. Vlog. I like saying it. So, it would make sense that I like the act of vlogging, too. I've been sick the past few days so I haven't done anything really but sit around...and edit video. These aren't so much 'vlogs', but silly videos, but here's a little bit of randomness I thought I would share...

Enjoy!

Tra Jones...

Guitar, keys & cowriter extraordinaire. But, maybe not a dancer? Or, so he says.

You decide.

Just a random convo with Kaci on the drive home from lunch when I visited LA out in January to do some recording. This is probably not funny or interesting to anyone but us...but, to each his own :)

This clip was also part of a much longer conversation that talked about a whole lotta' nothin'....so I figured I should shorten it a bit.

"Child-like"

Today, I babysat a little girl named Emma and her brother Finn for part of the day. It was a beautiful day outside, and while Finn was napping, Emma and I decided to go outside to draw with some sidewalk chalk in the sun, and we proceeded to have a conversation while we doodled away. I almost forgot I was talking to a 2 and a half year old for a minute...she's such a little adult. When I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, she replied with "Winnie the Pooh". And when I asked why, she frankly said, "because he always plays with his friends," as if I should have known better than to ask. But, it made me realize how children just have a genuine adoration for life and see everything so clearly...and I wish I could live life a little more that way. In her eyes, the most important thing is friendship and spending time with the ones you love. She can't see anything better than to grow up and be surrounded by friends everyday. What a simple concept. It really made me think. So, for those of you who I don't tell enough, I truly treasure your friendships and I'm glad you are part of my life.

Winter Wonderland!?

My backyard looks like a winter wonderland...or do you call it a spring wonderland when it snows in March!?
